Parents or guardians are expected to call in the morning to report an absence. Our phones will receive messages all hours of the day or night, so please don’t hesitate to call to give us a reason when your student will not be able to attend school. When leaving a message, please make sure to speak clearly and slowly so that we may hear the name of the student, person calling in, date of absence and reason (sick, injury, funeral, appointment, late or tardy). Our staff will make calls home first thing in the morning when attendance is taken. The Fresno Unified automated system will make a phone call home in the evening if the absence still has not been cleared during the school day. All absences must be cleared by the end of the week.
